Transition into Fall Fashion

With the temperatures getting chillier, it's time to start transitioning your favorite summer fashions into outfits more suitable for fall.  I put together three of my favorite summer outfits and showed you three easy ways to wear them in the cooler months.

Outfit #1
Striped Tee Shirt

It's no surprise that my J. Crew neon pink chino shorts are a staple in my summer wardrobe.  Unfortunately, I'll be packing those away in a few short weeks.  A simple striped tee shirt and a pair of sandals looks great with shorts, but if you take that tee shirt and trade in the shorts for jeans and the sandals for flats, you've got a perfectly acceptable outfit for Fall!

 Outfit #2
Ponte Pants

I professed my love for Ponte pants a few posts back.  In the summer, I like to wear them with a lightweight button up (this one is a seersucker/gingham!) and either flats or sandals (depending on where I'm going.)  Once the leaves start turning, I trade in the button down for a sweater and add a scarf.

 Outfit #3
Tee Shirt Dress

On those days when you can't be bothered to match pants and a top, a dress is the next best thing.  I love easy pull on tee shirt dresses.  Even though this dress is long sleeves, in the warmer months I roll up the sleeves and throw my hair up into a top knot (complete with a monogrammed hair bow) with some sandals.  To transition this dress into Fall, I roll down my sleeves, through on a scarf and tights, and wear closed toe shoes.  (Any UVa fans out there?  I was channeling my inner Wahoo in this outfit.)

How do you transition your clothes from summer to fall?
xoxo,
Rebecca
