As I'm sure most of you know, I go to school 5-6 hours away from home. Because my school doesn't give us any days off of classes for Easter, it's become a tradition that my family comes to Virginia since they have days off of work. The past two years, we've stayed at a beautiful cabin in Rawley Springs, right outside of Harrisonburg. Easter weekend is always the highlight of my spring semester because I get to spend time with my family (and dog!) and relax before gearing up to finals and the end of the semester.
This year was even more special because my friend Lily was able to join me for the weekend! Lily has practically become part of our family. She spent spring break at home with me, and judging by this past weekend, she'll be spending quite a few more breaks at the Mill house over the next year.
I can't even tell you how excited I was to get off campus for the weekend. With the end of classes coming up, it was nice to be able to get away from the chaos of school...plus spending a weekend reading and relaxing with a snuggly beagle by my side didn't hurt!
In addition, my friend Jackie who graduated last year joined us for Easter Dinner! She's working at a barn about an hour away from Rawley Springs right now, so she popped over for dinner and some time to catch up. I hadn't seen her since last year, so it was nice to hear that there is life post-SBC.
Alice doesn't look too impressed that she was forced to be in this photo...
What do y'all do to celebrate Easter?
