New York State of Mind

Finally time for the big news of my summer plans!  If you follow me on instagram or twitter, you probably already know what I'm going to say...but...

I am SO excited to announce that I will be interning at Soho Rep Theatre this summer!

Remember how on Monday I had said that I would be enjoying the first few weeks of summer before heading off to my internship?  Wrong!  Later that evening I received an email from my coordinator asking if I could start next week!  The internship is part time, so I'll be in the office Wednesday through Friday.  Luckily that gives me a little bit of time at home each week, or time to go into the city and visit some friends!

If any of y'all have suggestions for low-cost (y'all, I'm an unpaid intern, further typifying the poor college kid stereotype) things to do in NYC, let me know!

I can't wait to share my summer adventures on the blog!  Follow me on instagram (@rebecca_mill), as I'm sure that's where I'll be posting most frequently!

Also, if any of y'all will be in The Big Apple at any point during the summer, let me know!  I'd love to meet up with some bloggy friends for a cup of coffee!

xoxo,
Rebecca

  3. Wahoo! That's so exciting!!! I live in Connecticut, so we're basically neighbors :)
I hope you have an amazing time! While New York can be really expensive, there are tons of free things to do.
You'll definitely have to picnic in central park. The pond in the southeast corner is my favorite spot (it's also where Holden sees the ducks in The Catcher in the Rye).
Since you'll be living/working there, you should get a New York Public Library card (they're free and you can apply online).
The High Line is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. They usually have some pretty cool art on display.
Oh! And MoMA has free admission on Fridays between 4 and 8pm. You just have to line up early, but it's totally worth it.
Ahh there's so much to do! You're going to absolutely love it.
