I'm still amazed that this semester is almost over. It just felt like each week went by so quickly and the next thing I know...the semester is over! With that, brings a lot of time getting myself organized, long study sessions in the library, and hopefully lots of meals with friends before we part for our month-long break.
I've put together some of my tips to get through the next few weeks, and hopefully they'll help you maintain a bit of sanity!
Take the time to organize before starting.
I know it seems like taking fifteen, or even twenty minutes, before studying to make a to do list and get yourself organized would be counterproductive, I feel like the exact opposite is true. If I don't take time to "brain dump", I can't focus on my work because I'm continually thinking about what needs to be done next. I have a routine of cleaning my room and desk, making a to do list, and getting a snack and drink before I begin studying.
Find "your" study spot.
By this point in the semester, hopefully you've already found the spot where you study the best. But if you haven't, now is the perfect time. I like a quiet place, with very few people, and a lot of natural light.
Stock up on study snacks.
Before coming back to school after Thanksgiving, I stocked up on some of my favorite snacks....sweet potato chips and baked cheese crunchies from Trader Joes. When I go to the library to study, I'll put a little bit in a baggie, and then when I get hungry while studying, I can just get my snack out!
Take a break!
Studying for hours on end is really unhealthy. Whether it be a 10 minute break for a walk around the library, or a few hours to share a meal with friends, it's definitely necessary!
Don't forget to take time for yourself!
Even in the midst of exams, it's important to take care of yourself. If you're a regular gym-goer, don't sacrifice your daily workout for study time. Additionally, please do not forgo personal hygiene during exams! I've seen far too many girls with unbrushed hair (and probably teeth, too...) during exam week. Surely you can sacrifice fifteen minutes for a quick shower between study sessions!
