Jetsetter

There's something really crazy about technology these days.  The fact that I can open a website, type in a destination and a date, and book a plane ticket is crazy.  Within just a few minutes, you've got yourself a plane ticket, and you're ready to go.

Traveling is one of the most freeing things I've ever experienced.  But hopping on the internet after thinking about a trip for weeks and actually pressing confirm on your travel plans, seeing the charge show up on your credit card so you know it's real... well that's just crazy.

And a few days or months later, you finish packing your bags, and you head to the airport.  You step on the airplane and let yourself drift off into another world.  A few (or a lot of!) hours later, you step off the plane in your final destination.  For some, you find a friend or family member waiting for you and you run into their arms.  For others, you find the taxi and head to your hotel, ready to take on a journey by yourself.

I'm heading to Denver this evening, and I might just cry when I step off the plane...and then sob a little more when I see Bess.  Granted, the last time we saw each other was over the summer, so it hasn't been terribly long.  But we went from spending almost every waking moment together...between school, soccer, and play practice, to not seeing each other for over a year.  It was a hard adjustment when I left for college and Bess moved to Minnesota, but luckily things like texting and instagram have kept us connected even when we're physically hundreds of miles apart.

I have a few posts scheduled for while I'm gone, but I'm leaving my laptop at home, so if you want to see what I'm up to, remember to follow my instagram account (@rebecca_mill)!

xoxo,
Rebecca

  1. My childhood best friend lives in Denver now! I totally understand how hard it is to not get to see her often. Have fun!
