Since I've been in college, my family has come down to Virginia to celebrate Easter with me. My school doesn't give us any days off of classes for the holiday, so it was always the more suitable option with my class schedule. This year, I could have gone home because I don't have class on Mondays and Fridays, but my parents had already reserved a house before I knew my class schedule.
This year, my mom found a beautiful 1810 Federal and Greek Revival Style home in Madison Heights, VA. The house is only fifteen minutes (at most!) from my college, so it was ideal for this year since my mom wanted to take some photos of me in my cap and gown on campus. Even better, we were able to reserve the house for my graduation weekend, too!
If you thought the exterior of the house was charming, I wish you could see the interior! I promise to take more photos of the immaculately decorated bedrooms when we're back in May. The homeowners have the home decorated with the most beautiful furniture and draperies. It truly looks like a Southern plantation home!
Miss Alice also had a grand ole time at Oak Lawn! They have a spacious back yard for Alice to roam around in. I was just happy to have some puppy cuddles for the weekend, and Miss Alice was happy with the hundreds of new scents to sniff out! #BeaglePriorities
What's your favorite type of architecture? I'd have to say mine is Federal. I took a course on the Architecture of Sweet Briar last semester and we also took a look at the architecture in the surrounding area. I was always most fond of the Federal style simply because it's clean and classic.
