Spring Study Tips

It's hard to believe that it's almost May, the semester is almost over, and I'm graduating in a little over two weeks!  So many things going on, so many things to finish up, and so little time!

I don't know about y'all, but I've got my work cut out for me over the next week.  I actually have nothing but a written yoga exam (yes, yoga...) after classes end on Tuesday.  In the spirit of finals season, I've compiled some of my favorite study tips.  It's hard to believe that after this week, I won't be utilizing these tips anymore!  Academic freedom, at last!


To do lists are key.

Take productive study breaks.
(Set alarms on your phone every so often to make sure you are getting up and moving around!  With spring semester, my favorite study break is a walk around campus with a pal!  You get some exercise, catch up with your friend, get some fresh air, and have a brain refreshed and ready to get back to work!)

Don't forget to take care of yourself.
(Eating, sleeping, and bathing are important - even during finals week.)

Remember that grades are only a number, and your self worth isn't determined by the grade you earn on your final paper.

Consult your syllabus while working on papers and projects for guidelines and expectations.

Professors are still available during finals week.  Don't be afraid to set up a time to meet with them to go over any questions you come up with while studying.

Start early.  Review your notes every night leading up to the test instead of cramming the night before.

Avoid pulling all-nighters.
(Fun fact: I have never pulled an all nighter, and I don't think this is the semester to try it out.  Pace yourself and your work so you aren't forced to stay up all night!)
